Issuance Program Update: June 2023

 30 June 2023

During the first half of 2023-24, the Australian Office of Financial Management (AOFM):

  • plans to issue a new June 2054 Bond in the December quarter.
  • will hold 1-2 Treasury Indexed Bond tenders each month.
  • will remain active in the Treasury Note market, maintaining at least $25 billion on issue.

Details about weekly transactions will be announced at midday on the preceding Friday.

At Budget, the AOFM announced plans to issue $75 billion of Treasury Bonds, and between $2 billion and $4 billion of Treasury Indexed Bonds in 2023-24. The Treasurer has indicated a stronger surplus in 2022-23 than forecast at Budget. This will contribute to a lower borrowing requirement in 2023-24. Updated guidance on the 2023-24 issuance program will be provided following MYEFO.

Work on the Green Bond Framework is ongoing.
