Eligibility to apply for a position

Applicants must be Australian citizens. If successful in your application, you must undergo a Security Clearance process, a police reference check and a credit check prior to engagement. AOFM employees must adhere to the Australian Public Service (APS) Values and Code of Conduct.

The selection process

Applicants will be assessed in the first instance against the selection criteria based on their written application. Further selection stages usually involve testing written and analytical skills, psychometric assessment and an interview. With your consent, we may also contact your nominated referees.

Writing your application

We encourage all applicants to refer to the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) guide for tips on how to write your application. Focusing on the selection criteria and explaining how your skills and experience are relevant are important. Give examples where appropriate.
